We tried a bunch of different ironing boards and this one was my favourite by far. It's got a big surface area which is awesome for shirts and it's really stable. The pull out iron rest works great with out iron and it didn't cost $100 like some of the other ones we looked at.

Save yourself the irritation, and do not order this ironing board! The quality is very poor! Even though it isn't clear in the item description, the ironing surface is made of plastic - and that isn't even the worst part. The plastic top consists of 5 different pieces. These pieces were so poorly put together that 3 of them were overlapping each other. My husband had to help me take it apart, which wasn't easy. With much effort and irritation, we were finally able to force the pieces together correctly.... but the damage had been done. The top was a wavy, ridiculous mess. It wasn't easy to ship back, as it came in corrugated paper envelope of sorts. I was extremely careful in opening the package, which enabled me to seal it back up with LOTS of mailing tape. To Amazon's credit, they paid the cost of the return shipping.

I wanted this as a replacement for my mom's older rusted board. It's really not quite what I expected. When I went to open and close the board it seemed quite awkward. It's almost like it's designed for a left handed person. The release latch is on the left not the right so you have to walk around the board to close it and open it. I don't like the plastic top either. The legs are sturdy and it's functional. The latch to release and set up the board should be on the side you are standing at to open it.
